People — Planet — Profit
Founded on a passion for sustainability, Another Good Human strives to adhere to the triple bottom line as best as we can. While we may be imperfectly sustainable, we believe there is simply no room to ignore the detrimental impact of the unethical and unsustainable business practices found within industries such as fast fashion. From widespread textile pollution to inhumane sweatshop labor, we are utterly saddened by the lack of humanity present in many companies around the world. In light of our unique position as stewards of this wonderful planet, we advocate to revolutionize the idea of “sustainability” as a whole. No longer does this word simply refer to the recycling of plastic bottles but rather provides a comprehensive, multifaceted approach to social, environmental, and economic well-being.
Given that we believe in the good of humanity, it is our duty to uphold the working conditions of the people who make our clothing. Our garment supplier has recently partnered with Amfori, specifically their Business Social Compliance Initiative. BSCI is a leading supply chain management system that supports companies to drive social compliance and improvements within the factories and farms in their global supply chains. It’s an independently audited, step-by-step approach for a better workplace.
Our garment supplier has also recently partnered with Reemi, a social enterprise and non-profit that exists to see humans flourish everywhere, with 100% of their profits going towards helping others. Reemi focuses on women’s health because they believe it is under-prioritised in the garment industry, even though the majority of workers are female. For Reemi this begins with menstrual health, providing educational and sustainable products that work for all cultures.
By joining our movement at Another Good Human, you can rest assured knowing that our supply chain meets the highest criteria in terms of ethical labor standards worldwide.
Organic cotton is a natural, GMO-free fiber that uses significantly less water and energy to produce than its standard cotton counterpart. Furthermore, the production of organic cotton refrains from the usage of harmful, toxic chemicals (meaning no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides) and encourages proper crop rotation to maintain the soil’s health and fertility. The organic cotton that is used in the fabric of our products goes even one step further in the sustainability supply chain, as it is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), a well-known, independent certification for textiles made from organic fibers.
Additionally, our apparel products are certified by Oeko-Tex Standard 100. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified ensures that products are free from dangerous substances—chemicals like pesticides, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and undesirable surfactants. The certification is designed to ensure the effect the dyeing industry has on the environment is minimized and the garments are safe for consumers as well as the people who make and sell them.
What about packaging?
Let’s break it down, shall we? Beginning with the outermost layer, we utilize a fully recyclable mailer made out of 100% recycled material. Moving inside the parcel, we provide an extra layer of biodegradable bubble wrap alternative to prevent any damage to the package. Finally, our special product box is specifically designed to be reused and is also fully curbside recyclable.
